CANADA JUNK REMOVAL GUIDE

What do junk removal companies take in Canada?

Most general junk-removal services handle ordinary household furniture and clutter, but acceptance is not universal. Refrigerants, hazardous waste, construction debris and very heavy materials can have separate rules.

Common household items

Typical loads can include couches, tables, chairs, bed frames, non-hazardous household clutter and some appliances. The company still needs to confirm the actual load because truck capacity and disposal routes vary.

Items that need special handling

Mattresses, refrigerators, freezers, electronics, tires and renovation debris can involve special preparation, recycling or disposal fees. Tell the company about these items before the truck arrives.

Hazardous material is different

Paint, solvents, fuels, chemicals, propane cylinders and other hazardous materials should not be assumed to be part of ordinary junk pickup. Municipal or provincial programs often provide separate disposal routes.

Get a useful quote

Give the company an accurate item list and photos when possible. Ask whether labour, loading, transportation, disposal and applicable surcharges are included, and whether the estimate can change after the crew sees the load.
