- Resident bulky-waste drop-off uses the permanent écocentres; the daytime transfer centre is a separate paid route. Bring original ID and proof of residence.

- Aéroparc: daily 9 a.m.–4:45 p.m., except Wed 10:30 a.m.–7:45 p.m.; winter schedule from Dec 6, 2026. Carrière écocentre: weekdays 6–8:45 p.m., weekends 9 a.m.–4:45 p.m. Transfer centre: weekdays 7 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Holiday exceptions apply.
- Registration required
- Bulky pickups are now collected only from registered addresses.
- Item limit
- The City lists a maximum of four bulky items per registration, or 12 for multi-residential buildings.
- Size/weight
- A bulky item can be refused if it exceeds 50 kg, is longer than 1.5 m or cannot be moved by two people without mechanical equipment.

How to dispose of common items in Gatineau
Mattress and box-spring disposal
Mattresses and box springs are accepted in the registered bulky collection, subject to the four-item household limit and the City’s size/handling rules.
Couches and large furniture
Sofas and other interior furniture are accepted. Carpets should be rolled and tied before pickup.
Fridges, freezers and appliances
Stoves, washers, dryers, microwaves and dishwashers are among the accepted non-refrigerant appliances. Fridges and other refrigerated equipment use a separate collection program.
Drywall and renovation debris
Regular bulky pickup rejects construction and renovation residues such as toilets, sinks, showers, drywall and ceramic. Use an ecocentre or the appropriate CRD route instead.
Does your property type change the answer?
For homes and buildings served by wheeled carts, registered items are placed at curbside. For buildings using large containers, bulky items go beside the garbage container or another location identified by the building manager.
