How to dispose of common items in Barrie
Mattress and box-spring disposal
Mattresses and box springs are not collected by Barrie's curbside waste contractors. Check the City's item lookup for the current landfill or diversion route, confirm any fee, and secure the load for transport.
Couches and large furniture
Furniture is not collected by Barrie's curbside waste contractors. Take unusable furniture to Barrie Landfill where accepted, donate reusable items, or arrange private pickup.
Fridges, freezers and appliances
Electronics, scrap metal and refrigerant appliances should be separated. Product-recycling programs or designated landfill areas may be preferable to general disposal.
Drywall and renovation debris
Construction debris does not belong in a normal curbside set-out. Check landfill acceptance, material separation and asbestos precautions before moving older drywall or insulation.
