In Canada, an unwanted mattress typically leaves through one of five routes: reuse or donation, municipal bulky-item collection, a designated drop-off or transfer station, a recycling program where available, or paid pickup. Which one is cheapest depends much more on your city than on the mattress itself.

Why a Canada-wide mattress answer would be misleading
1. Reuse or donate — only when it is genuinely suitable
A mattress should be clean, dry, structurally sound and free of pests or contamination before you even consider reuse. Many organizations do not accept used mattresses at all, and acceptance policies can change. Never treat donation as a way to dispose of a stained, damaged or questionable mattress.
2. Check municipal bulky-item pickup

Full-service pickup buys labour and transport.
