- Residential customers with active utility accounts can book up to two large-item pickups annually, at least three months apart. The general limit is five large items and/or ten standard bags, up to 250 kg combined; Freon appliances count as two pickups.

How to dispose of common items in Lethbridge
Mattress and box-spring disposal
Mattresses and box springs are bulky waste and should be confirmed with the Waste & Recycling Centre before transport. Ask whether each piece is charged separately.
Couches and large furniture
Furniture that is not reusable can go through the disposal facility. Large loads should be secured and covered, and facility staff may direct recyclable metal away from general waste.
Fridges, freezers and appliances
Large appliances, electronics, scrap metal and refrigerant units should be declared separately. Never place propane cylinders or household chemicals inside an appliance or mixed load.
Drywall and renovation debris
Drywall, concrete, lumber and roofing are not normal cart garbage. Sort the load and check current facility categories, especially for suspect asbestos-containing renovation material.
