LOCAL DISPOSAL OPTIONS
How to dispose of common items in Huntsville
Mattresses, couches and household furniture
Furniture and mattresses can be self-hauled through the District system. Mattress/box-spring units have a posted per-item fee, while other furniture is charged through the waste rate at the selected facility.
Appliances, electronics, paint, propane and other special items
Separate electronics, scrap metal, tires and eligible large appliances because these have no-charge diversion routes. Cooling appliances are handled separately with a per-unit fee.
Renovation, construction and yard debris
Construction and demolition material should go to a District facility that accepts it; very large or controlled loads may require Rosewarne Landfill rather than a smaller transfer station.
