How to dispose of common items in Regina
Mattress and box-spring disposal
Mattress acceptance can depend on the current large-item list. If there is no eligible collection for your address, confirm landfill acceptance and charges before hauling it.
Couches and large furniture
Furniture is a typical large-item category during an eligible collection, but size, quantity and placement limits apply. Reuse remains preferable for safe, usable pieces.
Fridges, freezers and appliances
Metal appliances, electronics and refrigerant appliances may use separate recycling or facility routes rather than the general bulky truck. Check each item in the Waste Wizard.
Drywall and renovation debris
Construction debris is not ordinary Big Item Collection material. Take sorted renovation waste to an authorized facility and identify hazardous or asbestos-risk material first.
Does your property type change the answer?
The City's program may apply differently to houses and privately serviced multi-family buildings. Apartment residents should follow their building's collection contract.
