How to dispose of common items in North Dundas
Mattresses, couches and household furniture
Furniture and other bulky household items can be self-hauled to the landfill when accepted. Check the current township fee and material list before loading a mixed cleanout.
The landfill is the township’s main self-haul site at 12620 Boyne Rd in Winchester. Call 613-774-5157 if you need to confirm whether a bulky item or mixed load is accepted before driving out.
Appliances, electronics, paint, propane and other special items
Household hazardous products have a specific collection/drop-off program rather than the ordinary garbage stream. Keep electronics, batteries, paint and similar special materials separated.
The published 2026 household-hazardous-waste dates are May 9, June 6, July 4, August 8, September 5 and October 3. Beginning May 9, residents may also use the HHW depot Monday through Saturday during regular landfill operating hours.
Renovation, construction and yard debris
Renovation and construction debris should be brought to the landfill under the township’s current material and fee rules; sort heavy project waste from household garbage where required.
The site also has a residential recycling depot for residents who miss curbside collection or have excess recyclables; it operates during regular landfill hours. Heavy project materials should still be checked against the township’s current fee and acceptance rules.
North Dundas also collects up to six bags of leaf and yard waste with weekly curbside garbage from May 18 through November 27, 2026. Paper bags must be securely closed and no more than 15 kg; branches are not accepted in that curbside program.
