How to dispose of common items in North Bay
Drywall and renovation debris
Mixed loads containing recyclables or banned materials can be charged double, so sort wood, brick, tires, appliances and other diverted material before arriving.
Mattress and box-spring disposal
North Bay’s Mattress Recycling Program charges $30 per mattress or box spring. The City states that mattresses are collected on site and sent to a recycling facility where fabric, foam, wood and metal are repurposed or recycled rather than landfilled.
Appliances and special items
Refrigerant-containing appliances carry a $25 per-unit fee at the landfill. Electronics and scrap metal should be separated into their designated diversion streams.
