LOCAL DISPOSAL OPTIONS

How to dispose of common items in Squamish

Mattresses, couches and household furniture

Furniture and mattresses can be taken through the landfill’s chargeable disposal streams; mattresses have their own fee category. Keep reusable items out of disposal when a local reuse option is available.

Appliances, electronics, paint, propane and other special items

Large appliances, metal and electronics have dedicated diversion areas and should be separated from garbage. Household hazardous products and paint also use special facility streams rather than the landfill face.

Renovation, construction and yard debris

Drywall, wood, concrete and other project materials have material-specific rates and handling rules. For reusable building materials, ReBuild at 40446 Government Road accepts selected items such as windows, sinks, tubs, lumber, flooring, pavers, toilets and cabinets.
