How to dispose of common items in Langley City
Mattress and box-spring disposal
Mattresses are excluded from the City of Langley large-item pickup program. Use the City's disposal resources or an appropriate regional/private disposal route instead.
Appliances and special items
The City accepts large household goods such as stoves, dishwashers, hot-water tanks, refrigerators, freezers, washers and dryers. Confirm preparation requirements when booking.
Drywall and renovation debris
Lumber, demolition material and home-renovation waste are excluded from the City large-item pickup program and require another approved disposal route.
Before you set out or haul a large item
In Langley City, classify the item before choosing the disposal route. Furniture, mattresses, refrigerant appliances, electronics, household hazardous waste and construction debris can be governed by different collection or facility rules even when they come from the same home.
Use City of Langley — Large Item Pick Up to re-check the current collection date or booking requirement, item dimensions or weight limits, facility hours, fees and preparation instructions. If the guide uses a regional authority, that is intentional: the regional waste operator may control disposal even when curbside service is associated with the municipality.
