How to dispose of common items in Lake Country
Mattresses, couches and household furniture
Furniture and mixed household junk can be taken to Glenmore under the mixed-garbage rate. Mattresses have a separate per-unit fee, so keep them identifiable rather than burying them in a mixed load.
Appliances, electronics, paint, propane and other special items
Propane tanks and automotive batteries are free under the regional disposal guide, while large appliances and other mandatory recyclables should be placed in their designated diversion streams rather than landfilled.
Renovation, construction and yard debris
Glenmore has separate 2026 rates for drywall, concrete/asphalt, wood waste and asphalt shingles. Sorting renovation material before arrival avoids the mandatory recycling surcharge that can apply when banned recyclables are found in garbage.
