How to dispose of common items in Stratford
Mattresses, couches and household furniture
Furniture and other eligible large household items can go out on the regular collection day with the required $14 tag, or be self-hauled to the landfill. The landfill can be more practical for several items at once.
Appliances, electronics, paint, propane and other special items
Appliances, electronics and hazardous products have specific routes or landfill treatment. Keep them separated from ordinary household junk so the correct fee/diversion program can be applied.
Renovation, construction and yard debris
Construction material is accepted according to landfill rules and fees. Asbestos has a special acceptance procedure and requires advance notice rather than being mixed into standard renovation waste.
