Appliances, electronics, paint, propane and other special items

For 2026, Dufferin County also scheduled household hazardous and electronic-waste events in Shelburne at the Operations Centre, 124 Luxton Way, on May 30 (8 a.m.–3 p.m.) and August 19 (3–8 p.m.). These events are for household material, not ordinary garbage or white goods.

Renovation, construction and yard debris

Construction and demolition material is not accepted as bulky curbside waste. Route renovation material to a facility that accepts it.

Dufferin County also collects yard waste on Week B in Shelburne’s urban area and rural subdivisions; collection begins at 7 a.m. and can continue through the week. Rural properties outside those areas use the county call-in system, which requires contacting GFL at least one week ahead.
