Who can use it

Follow qRD facility rules and contamination requirements.

Mattresses, couches and household furniture

Furniture and other non-recyclable household junk can be handled through the Resource Recovery Centre’s municipal-solid-waste stream. Mattresses are separated and have a specific 2026 per-unit fee, so keep them out of a mixed bagged-garbage load.

Appliances, electronics, paint, propane and other special items

The centre provides dedicated streams for scrap metal, tires, organics and other diverted materials. Tires off rim are handled through the recycling program, while items such as electronics and household hazardous products should follow the qRD’s designated recovery channels.

Renovation, construction and yard debris

The centre accepts general construction and renovation debris and also separates clean/contaminated wood. Drywall, asbestos-containing material and designated recyclables are not accepted in the general construction stream, so those require another approved route.
