How to dispose of common items in Strathmore
Mattresses, couches and household furniture
Eligible furniture such as sofas and couches can use the heavy-item program. Items must meet the town’s size/weight rules, including a maximum weight around 70 kg; keep the town-issued tag attached.
Appliances, electronics, paint, propane and other special items
Electronics, tires, propane cylinders and refrigerant appliances are excluded from heavy-item pickup and need separate recycling or disposal routes.
Renovation, construction and yard debris
Construction and demolition waste—including fixtures such as toilets, baths and vanities—is excluded from the heavy-item program. Use an approved disposal site for renovation debris.
