How to dispose of common items in Grande Prairie
Mattress and box-spring disposal
For a mattress or furniture load, confirm Aquatera’s current disposal location and fee before transport or arrange a private pickup.
Appliances and special items
Use the Eco Centre or designated recycling route for accepted electronics, appliances and household special materials instead of mixing them into garbage.
Drywall and renovation debris
Construction debris should be taken to the correct Aquatera disposal stream, separated by material when required.
Before you set out or haul a large item
In Grande Prairie, classify the item before choosing the disposal route. Furniture, mattresses, refrigerant appliances, electronics, household hazardous waste and construction debris can be governed by different collection or facility rules even when they come from the same home.
Use City of Grande Prairie — Waste Utilities to re-check the current collection date or booking requirement, item dimensions or weight limits, facility hours, fees and preparation instructions. If the guide uses a regional authority, that is intentional: the regional waste operator may control disposal even when curbside service is associated with the municipality.
