How to dispose of common items in Canmore
Mattresses, couches and household furniture
The booked large-item service accepts old furniture, mattresses, box springs and selected white goods. Items should be out by 8 a.m. on the confirmed pickup date; do not place them out without a booking.
Appliances, electronics, paint, propane and other special items
The large-item program can take selected white goods, including fridges, but excludes hazardous waste, tires, propane, commercial material and ordinary recyclables. Use the recycling depot or another designated route for those streams.
Renovation, construction and yard debris
Construction and demolition material is excluded from Canmore’s large-item pickup. Project waste should go to an approved disposal facility rather than the curbside bulky program.
