Quick answer for Calmar
The Town’s fall 2026 large-item and yard-waste collection was scheduled October 5–9 and has ended. For oversized furniture and large loads outside the cleanup, the Town directs residents to the Leduc & District Waste Management Facility.
1. What ordinary curbside collection covers
Calmar provides ordinary household garbage pickup on Thursdays. Its occasional large-item collection and regional landfill drop-off are separate from regular curbside garbage carts.
2. Regional landfill or transfer-station route
Calmar has an agreement for small approved items at the City of Leduc Eco Station, but the Town says large furniture/appliances and construction debris must go to the Leduc & District regional landfill instead.
3. Appliances, chemicals and special waste
The 2026 fall event excludes appliances, hazardous materials and automotive products. Local yard-waste and other special recycling have different receiving programs.
4. Charges, schedules and booking
Eligible residents can apply for a Leduc & District regional landfill access card permitting up to 1,000 kg of household waste per household per year without an additional disposal charge; special items can have different charges.
What still needs a last check
Check whether the precise sofa/mattress falls under ordinary waste or a special charge, and do not list the completed October 5–9 cleanup as upcoming.
Waste and recycling rules can vary by building type, address, operator and material. Large items should not be left at the curb unless your applicable collection program explicitly authorizes them. Facility acceptance is different from curbside acceptance.
Before you load a truck or place an item outside
- Check whether municipal or regional service applies to your property.
- Identify the item’s exact stream: mattress, furniture, major appliance, metal, hazardous waste, construction material or ordinary household refuse.
- Check the official fee, facility hours and any required booking or advance approval.
- Secure your load and follow facility instructions for separation or special handling.
