Mattresses, couches and household furniture

Do not leave couches, mattresses or appliances beside communal garbage bins. Banff residents can schedule the town’s free large-item pickup, which accepts furniture, mattresses/box springs, fridges/freezers, stoves, dishwashers, bikes, BBQs without tanks and selected small appliances.

Appliances, electronics, paint, propane and other special items

Electronics and approved appliances can use the large-item pickup or Transfer Site. The Re-Use It Centre is useful for hard furniture and reusable household goods but does not accept mattresses, upholstered furniture, large appliances, tires or scrap metal.

Renovation, construction and yard debris

Construction and renovation waste can be taken to the Transfer Site but is not part of the free residential drop-off allowance. Keep project debris separate and expect the applicable construction charge rather than treating it as household bulky waste.
