LOCAL DISPOSAL OPTIONS

How to dispose of common items in Niagara Region — western municipalities

Mattresses, couches and household furniture

Eligible households can book large-item collection through Niagara Region. The regional program sets booking lead time and item limits, so confirm the current rules before set-out.

Appliances, electronics, paint, propane and other special items

Appliances and metal household items are not collected through Niagara's curbside large-item program. Use a receiving depot or arrange private scrap-metal pickup. Bridge Street in Fort Erie accepts only batteries, oil, propane tanks and paint in its household hazardous-waste area; other chemicals need a different regional HHW depot.

Renovation, construction and yard debris

Construction and demolition material is not the same stream as booked household bulky collection. Check the regional drop-off rules for the exact material before hauling.
