How to dispose of common items in Boucherville
Mattresses, couches and household furniture
The city accepts common bulky household items such as furniture, mattresses and box springs within the three-item limit. Mattresses should be placed vertically when practical, and furniture should not be dismantled into scattered pieces. Eligible large appliances include items such as stoves, washers and dryers, but the rules change for refrigerant-containing equipment.
Appliances, electronics, paint, propane and other special items
Refrigerators, freezers and other refrigerant appliances are excluded from the regular bulky collection and are directed to the Longueuil ecocentre or a GoRecycle route. Electronics, tires and propane cylinders also use separate recovery or drop-off channels rather than the bulky-item truck.
Renovation, construction and yard debris
Construction and renovation debris is excluded from the regular bulky collection. Drywall, lumber and similar project waste should be routed through an ecocentre or another approved construction-waste facility instead of being left with household furniture.
