HOW TO USE THE LOCAL GUIDES

Read the city facts first. Re-check the official source before you go.

City pages are meant to answer the local part of the job: whether there is curbside pickup, which public facility or regional system applies, what fees or limits are published, and which official source to use.

What stays on a city page

Local collection rules, facility names, published fees, resident or property eligibility, booking requirements and material-specific rules stay with the city when an official municipal or regional source supports them.

What belongs in the national guides

General loading, donation, quote-comparison and cleanout advice is kept in the item and cost guides instead of being repeated on every city page.

Before curbside set-out or a depot trip

  • Open the official source linked on the city page.
  • Confirm the address or property is eligible for the program.
  • Re-check the current date, hours, booking window and fee.
  • Match the exact material to the correct stream; bulky furniture, mattresses, appliances, hazardous products and renovation debris are not always handled the same way.

Regional systems

Some neighbouring municipalities use the same regional waste authority. In those cases the same facility or fee can legitimately appear on more than one city page. The regional source—not a rewritten version of the same fact—is the authority.
